“It’s Showtime!” the only words came out from the Smiling Cedric Lee when being asked by the reporters for his message to Vhong Navarro. The businessman did not give any fuller details nor’ clarifications on what he said, either he’s provoking the host or was just simply a taunt for the host.
The puzzling two-word remark of Lee, without any clarifications rattled the netizens and have interpreted it as a threat to the “It’s Showtime” Host Vhong Navarro.
Vhong Navarro’s lawyer, Attorney Alma Mallonga, who was over the phone during the report of ‘GMA: News To Go’ gave her statement over Lee’s derisive remark.
“Ang mahirap na tanggapin talaga, ang pinapamukha, ang pinagsasabi, Nakikinig ako 'yung sinabi ni Cedric na pangungutya na now “It's Showtime”
“Anong mararamdaman mo? Parang pinapalabas na after all, ikaw ang nabugbog, ikaw ang nadetine, ikaw ang itinali, ikaw ang na-humiliate, kung ano-anong ginawa sa'yo, 'yun pala ikaw ang may kasalanan? said Atty. Alma Mallonga, vhong's lawyer”
Yet, according to Cedric Lee’s lawyer, Attorney Howard Calleja on DZMM live interview, Calleja said that there is no reason to give malice to Lee's remark.
“There’s nothing bad or malicious about that... Baka masaya lang 'yung tao or nami-miss niyang manood ng TV”
From the earlier interview, Calleja also had the same statement denying any fearful or threatening meaning over Lee’s remark.
“Nandu'n naman ako nu'ng nangyari 'yun. Kumbaga masaya lang ang tao nakakuha siya ng kanyang liberty at freedom at napagbigyan ang aming bail. There's nothing fearful or threatening”
Meanwhile, Vhong Navarro said that he is now fearing for the his safety and his family now that Cedric Lee is out of jail.
Model Deniece Cornejo, Businessman Cedric Lee and co-accused Zimmer Raz were facing charges filed against them for illegally mauled the TV-Host, Actor Vhong Navarro last January 22, inside the condominium in Taguig City.
A motion for reconsideration quickly was filed by Vhong Navarro’s lawyers but did not stop the release of the suspects.
