Chairman of the Barangay Salawag, Dasmariñas, Cavite drew flak for prohibiting the popular online/offline game Defense of the Ancients (DotA), Crossfire and other related online/offline games be served in computer shop premises.
The chairman issued Resolution 008-S-2015 on January 5, 2015. He said that game DotA should be banned in their village since it causes a lot trouble and fights that has already resulted harm to their community’s residents.

Paredes said that two children already died just playing Dota, he added that the latest incident occurred in November, 2014.

The chairman allegedly took the announcement of the ban to Facebook, but wasn’t confirmed if the chairman really is the one who operates its Facebook page.

Some commented that instead of working out a small recreational game kids are enjoying, officials should rather prioritize real problems, like illegal drugs and drinks.

The chairman also added of planning to ban Social media site "Facebook".

The chairman on his filed statement said that the first violation will result in suspension of the operation of the computer shop within a month, the second violation will mean the recovery of the business permit and the third is a permanent shutdown of the computer shop.
“Maraming salamat po sa mga magulang, kabarangay na sumuporta sa aking panukala na iban na ang tuluyan ang DOTA at Counter Strike Crossfire sa ating Baranggay Sana ay gayahin na rin ng ibang barangay dito sa cavite at pati na rin sa iba pang lugar sa pilipinas salamat sa mga sumuporta Lalong lalo na sa pinakamamahal nating Mayor! Weloveyou Mayor!” Barangay Chairman Enrico Paredes said on his Facebook.
